At NAMI Missouri we know kids absorb more when they’re engaged in what they’re learning. And part of our education course programming for parents is about developing good habits to manage mental health in the home.
That’s why we’ve developed a series of toolkits that pair with our NAMI Basics curriculum.
All parents and caregivers enrolled in our Basics courses are eligible to receive free materials to help them connect with their kids at home.
Each youth coping kit contains a Youth Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) book, a coping skills key ring, two sensory items/ fidget devices, contents and instructions to create a calming/ mindfulness bottle, plus a storage container and stickers for personalization.
The kits are tailored based on the developmental age of the child and are also available to families enrolled in the NAMI Homefront Education Course, if there are children ages 5 to 18 in the home.
In addition to our coping kits, we also provide free family wellness jar projects with Family WRAP and a variety of coloring and activity pages that focus on mental health and wellness skills for kids and teens of all ages.
