A couple weeks ago, we launched a “WRAP is…” contest on our Facebook page. The premise was simple: in no more than 100 words, tell us what WRAP means to you. The three submissions with the most “likes” by the end of the voting period would be rewarded with their choice of one of the following books:

The most liked submissions are included below. There was a tie for third place, so we have four winners.

Josh Helton wrote, “WRAP is my instruction manual, an important part of my recovery, and the lens through which I view the world. I am now seeing new wellness tools everywhere and recognizing new triggers and warning signs as they come up. WRAP is the daily support I can give myself to deal with what life throws at me.”

Tammy Balbinot wrote, “WRAP, or Wellness Recovery Action Plan, is an individualized plan to help one cope with the daily activities of life when we ourselves feel like we are ‘drowning.’ It can help to see that there are ‘life rafts’ available to us and we just have to remember who they are and that they ARE willing to help…. But it ultimately is our responsibility to reach out to those special ones who I call my ‘life rafts.’”

Sean Brennan wrote, “WRAP is my brain’s fertile crescent. Each section I write flows like the Nile as an endless source of reminder that recovery is constantly at my fingertips. It fertilizes my hopes by keeping all of my wellness tools within reach and reminds me of the riches of spirit I have to bring to the world.”

Alex Anderson wrote, “WRAP is a way of being that has changed my life for the better. I have control over my life now, where before WRAP I didn’t. WRAP gives me independence and manageability over my life. It gives me a way to organize my thoughts about my mental health, and for that I am grateful. Thank you WRAP.”

Congratulations, Josh, Tammy, Sean, and Alex! And thank you to everyone who entered the contest.
